What is Positive Reinforcement Dog Training

Positive dog training, also called force free or reward based dog training, simply means, rewarding your dog using praise and/or treats for doing something you want her to do. This will increase the likelihood of her repeating the behaviour again.

  • With personalized instruction, we can create a custom curriculum that focuses on the behaviours that you consider most important.
  • You have our undivided attention to help you hone your training skills, answer any questions and address any challenges you may have experienced while working with your dog.
  • When we can observe the unique training challenges present in your home, we can offer techniques for conquering them in a much more efficient way, reducing your frustration with your dog’s lack of compliance.
  • We are able to adapt our teaching methods, lesson plans and expectations of progress, according to your preferred style to maximize your learning potential.
  • When teaching new behaviors, the fewer distractions, the easier it is for your dog to learn. In the privacy of your home, you are able to control the number and intensity of many distractions while training.
  • When you and your dog are ready to increase distractions, we could start practicing the behaviors outdoors.
  • A custom training curriculum can also include a trick or two of your choice for added fun!

Does my puppy need to be vaccinated?
At what age can I start training my puppy?

Dog walking

Will my dog be walked off the lead?

Your dog will only be walked off the lead:

  • With your consent
  • In safe locations
  • Where it is legal.
  • After your dog has received recall training and is reliably coming back when called.

 

Does my dog need to be vaccinated and microchipped?

Yes!

For health and safety reasons, all dogs should be micro-chipped and up to date with their vaccinations, flea treatment and worming.

I'm interested in your home boarding service, How does it work?

Initially, just give us a call or contact us through the web form. We will arrange a “meet and greet” to discuss your requirements and meet  your dog. A deposit of 25% of the total fee is required to confirm the booking.

Q:  What do I need to bring for my dog?
  • We will need a confirmation that your dog is micro-chipped and up to date with vaccinations, flea treatment and worming.
  • Collar and lead
  • Bed/bedding
  • Food bowl and his/her regular food to avoid any upset stomachs.
  • Your dogs favourite treats or toys to enjoy while staying with us.
Q: Will my dog be put into a kennel or crated ?
  • No! Your dog will be in a family environment together with our 2 dogs and will be treated just like one of our own. Your dog will sleep in his own bed in the room of his/her choice.
I'm interested in your dog visiting service, how does it work?

Initially, just give us a call or contact us through the web form. We will arrange a “meet and greet” to discuss your requirements, meet  your dog(s) and collect the keys. A deposit of 25% of the total fee is required to confirm the booking.

Q: How many visits Would you recommend?
  • We would recommend 2 to 3 visits on a daily basis.
Q: How long will each visit last?
  • The visits can be 30 mins, 45 mins and 60 mins.
Q: At what times are you available to do home visits?
  • Our home visit service is available from 7 am until 10 pm.
Q: What do I need to provide for my Dog?
  • You will need to provide enough food to cover the time you are away.
  • Kitchen roll, cloths and cleaning products to clean bowls or any little accidents.
Q: What about my keys after the dog sitting ends?
  • Once we are sure that you are back home, we will deliver your keys either personally or drop them through the letter box of your house.
I'm interested in your cat visiting service, how does it work?

Initially, just give us a call or contact us through the web form. We will arrange a meet and greet to discuss your requirements, meet  your cat(s) and collect the keys. A deposit of 25% of the total fee is required to confirm the booking.

Q: What do I need to provide for my cat?
  • You will need to provide enough food and litter to cover the time you are away. Whilst we provide bags for day-to-day litter refuse, we do ask that general items such as litter scoops are provided as well as bin bags for complete litter disposal.
  • Kitchen roll, cloths and cleaning products to clean bowls and the cat’s area will be required.
Q: What about my keys after the cat sitting ends?
  • Once we are sure that you are back home, we will deliver your keys either personally or drop them through the letter box of your house.
